To better protect against fraud, LBC introduced EMV chip cards in October 2016. The chip card offers advanced security by making every transaction unique and is more difficult to counterfeit or copy by fraudsters. This embedded security chip will need to be “dipped” instead of swiped for those merchants who have EMV chip card terminals. Purchases made at non-EMV terminals can still be swiped as before. With Instant Issue Cards, LBC can provide customers with new or replacement Visa debit cards instantly. (Delivery time may vary by location.)
